Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
1. Overview
EbookCourier ("we", "us", or "our") operates as a digital product delivery service integrated with Shopify. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how it is stored in connection with our ebook delivery system.
2. Data We Collect
When we process and deliver your ebook order, we record the following delivery events and associated data:
- Order Sent: The date and time the delivery email was dispatched to your email address.
- Delivered: A confirmation that the delivery email successfully reached your inbox.
- Email Opened: A record of when you opened the delivery email, captured via a tracking pixel.
- Link Clicked: A log of when the secure download link inside the email was clicked.
- IP Address: The IP address of the device used to access the download link. This is used for security, fraud prevention, and audit purposes.
3. How We Use This Data
We use delivery data exclusively to:
- Confirm and audit ebook delivery to the correct recipient.
- Investigate failed or missing deliveries on customer request.
- Detect and prevent unauthorized sharing or misuse of download links.
- Maintain compliance records for digital product sales.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties outside of what is necessary to operate the delivery service.
4. Data Storage
All delivery data is stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database. Supabase provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. Access to this database is restricted to authorised personnel only.
5. Data Retention
Delivery records are retained for a minimum of 12 months to support order queries and dispute resolution. IP address logs are retained for the same period and then purged unless required for an active investigation.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about your order.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the Support page.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of the delivery service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
